Eligibility Criteria for Token Airdrop in Avail’s Blockchain Data Availability Project Sketches Out

Title: Avail Project Sketches Out Eligibility Criteria for Token Airdrop Following Celestia’s Success

Subheading: Avail, a blockchain data-availability project, is preparing for a token airdrop after a leaked document reveals eligibility criteria similar to Celestia’s successful token launch.

Avail, a closely watched blockchain data-availability project currently running on a test network, is making waves in the crypto community as it plans for a token airdrop following the success of rival project Celestia. A leaked document outlining the eligibility criteria for the airdrop was posted on social media platform X by user @Bitcoineo, prompting excitement and speculation among users.

The document suggests that users of layer-2 rollups such as Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, zkSync, and Starknet, as well as ecosystem developers and Polygon PoS stakers, could potentially receive the AVAIL token. Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, expressed enthusiasm for the airdrop in a post on X, highlighting the potential benefits for the Polygon community.

Avail, which was spun out from Polygon in March 2023, is part of a growing trend in the blockchain space towards “modular” blockchains, where specific functionalities are separated into plug-in modules. Celestia, another data availability solution, saw success with its TIA airdrop in November 2023, with the token already boasting a market capitalization of $1.8 billion.

EigenLayer, a project with its own in-house data availability solution, recently launched on the Ethereum blockchain, further intensifying competition in the space. While officials have not confirmed plans for a token, the success of projects like Celestia and the anticipation surrounding Avail’s upcoming airdrop indicate a growing interest in blockchain data availability solutions.
